Introducing our new Pay-What-You-Can Day!
To fit our mission of making the performing arts welcoming to all people, we include a Pay-What-You-Can Day for one performance of some of our productions, continuing with the August 17th performance of Crimes of the Heart! PWYC Days are a newer form of discount days introduced in the past decade in theatre to make the performing arts economically available to anyone.
Pay-What-You-Can allows patrons to purchase ANY seat in the house for as little as $1 per ticket (suggested price of $20 for adults, $5 for youth) and enjoy professional live theatre at St. Croix Festival Theatre. All tickets to our Pay-What-You-Can performances can be purchased exclusively via our box office either over phone or in person a week before the performance date with a limit of four tickets per person.
Seating for our PWYC performances is General Admission. We advise that you arrive no later than half an hour prior to curtain to get the best seat possible. Wherever you may come from, we want to share our art with you. We hope you will come enjoy some professional theatre with us, regardless of your financial situation.
“$20 suggested price”
The $20 suggested ticket price isn’t based on what it costs to make the show (which would make it much higher). And it isn’t based on the role we believe money should play in artistic endeavors (which would make it much lower). It is somewhere in between: a suggestion for those who have asked for one. If you really don’t know where to begin with choosing a ticket price, begin at $20.
“More if you have it...”
If you can afford to, please consider throwing in a little extra to help take care of those who can’t. The theatre experience is better for everyone when it is shared with a large and diverse community. You might even enjoy the show more knowing you helped make it possible for others.
“Less if you don’t”
For some people $50 is a lot of money, for others $5 is. We are counting on you to let us know what’s right for you. If you’re a little short on cash, pay whatever you can afford and get us back the next time. And if you enjoy the show and want to drop something in the tip jar on your way out, please do.
We feel theatre should be inclusive — it should be affordable for everybody. At St. Croix Festival Theatre, we believe theatre and the performing arts are essential to the well being and vitality of our community. You can always just choose the suggested price of $20. And if you can pay more, we’ll obviously cheer you on. Because that let’s us welcome even more members whose budgets are a little less forgiving.
Reserve your spot for our Pay-What-You-Can performance (Saturday, August 17th performance of Crimes of the Heart) by calling our box office at (715) 483-3387 or visiting us during our open hours of 10:00am-3:00pm Tuesdays-Fridays)
