Festival Playmaker Auditions
Festival Theatre Playmakers welcomes aspiring actors of all experience levels to audition for our productions. Auditions provide an opportunity to showcase talent, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn. Participants will be guided through the audition process in a supportive environment, where they will engage in cold readings, improvisation, and other performance techniques. We encourage everyone with a passion for theatre to join us, whether they are stepping onto the stage for the first time or looking to refine their skills.

Step into the spotlight with St. Croix Festival Theatre! Auditions are open to performers of all experience levels for our upcoming productions. Whether you’re brand new to the stage or a seasoned performer, we’re looking for enthusiastic singers, actors, and movers ready to collaborate, grow, and have fun.

When are do rehearsals start?
Frozen Jr. (auditions available for ages 8-18)
Performance dates- April 23- May 3
Rehearsal dates start March 16th every M/T/TH/F 5pm-8:30pm, Saturdays 1-5pm. No rehearsals Wednesdays and Sundays.
Tech week is Thursday April 16- Wednesday April 22. All cast members are required to be at all tech rehearsals.
Shrek The Musical (auditions available for ages 8+)
Performance dates- June 18-28
Rehearsal dates start May 17 every S/M/T/TH/F/Sat 5-9pm. No rehearsals Wednesdays.
Tech week is Tuesday June 9- Wednesday June 17. All cast members are required to be at all tech rehearsals.
Audition requirements and what to prepare:
What will the actual audition look like?
Auditions consist of 2 parts.
Part 1 is a group section. We will introduce ourselves, warm up together and play some theatre games.
Part 2 is an individual section. We will bring auditioners in one at a time to present your song and monologue.
Am I auditioning for 'Frozen Jr.' and 'Shrek' at the same time?
You will be able to specify in the audition if you would like to audition for 'Frozen Jr.', 'Shrek' or both.
'Frozen Jr.' Auditions are open to ages 8-18
'Shrek' Auditions are open to ages 8+
What if I've never done theatre before?
That's 100% okay! We encourage all ages and skill levels to audition with us. There is no previous experience necessary! We are looking for people who are excited to do theatre, be a part of a collaborative process, and are open and willing to learn and try new things!

- 16-32 bars (roughly 1 minute) of a song of your choice to sing A Cappella (without a musical accompaniment) for us.
- A 45-60 second monologue (memorization encouraged but not required). This can be from any piece of text (poem, book, play, etc).
- Come dressed in clothes you are comfortable moving in.
