Festival Theatre Black Box Free Admission Local writer Robin Maercklein shares a free reading from his recently published book Campfire Stories - Journeys into the BWCAW! Campfire Stories-Journeys Into the BWCAW chronicles 45 years of trips into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, beginning in 1977. Two main stories are told. The first is a telling of Robin and his older brother taking a trip crossing the BWCAW from Lake One to Sawbill Lake in late September. Record rains during 12 of the 14 days produced high water and floods throughout the region challenging the brothers' ability to build a fire, find and or make portages, and an impossible mission to stay dry. The second trip highlights a growing romance in 1987 and is intertwined with the first story. Sales and signing will take place immediately giving everyone a chance to mingle before heading into the theater to listen to selected stories from the book. We will finish up following one last chance to purchase a book and get it signed by Robin. |
